College of Arts and Humanities

Formerly the College of Communication and Fine Arts

The College of Arts and Humanities is the University's creative and intellectual hub, home to seven dynamic departments. These include Art and Design, English, Hall School of Journalism and Communication, History and Philosophy, John M. Long School of Music, Theatre and Dance, and World Languages. Students explore creativity, culture, and communication through visual arts, literature, philosophy, languages, music, performance, and media. The college prepares students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage with the world through diverse academic and artistic experiences. Together, these departments form a vibrant community dedicated to fostering innovation, cultural awareness, and intellectual growth across disciplines.

College of Education and Behavioral Sciences

Formerly the College of Education

The College of Education and Behavioral Science offers a diverse range of programs, including teacher education, psychology, counseling, interpreter training, anthropology, sociology, criminology, political science, Army ROTC, and the Air Force ROTC program, as well as leadership studies. Graduate students can pursue advanced degrees such as the new Global Leadership Ph.D. program, designed to prepare students for leadership roles on a global scale. Serving more than 3,400 students, the college is dedicated to providing high-quality education, strong community engagement, and extensive outreach programs鈥攁mong the largest in Alabama. Programs are available at the Troy campus and multiple locations across the southeast and beyond, ensuring education is accessible and impactful.

Formerly the College of Arts and Sciences

The College of Science and Engineering offers majors and minors that range from biology and biomedical science to computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, geospatial informatics, chemistry and more. Graduate students can pursue a multitude of degrees, including a Master of Science in Applied Mathematical Sciences or a Master of Science in Computer Science, which offers concentrations in cyber security, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, computer network and security, data science, software development and video game design. The College of Science and Engineering views creativity, inquiry and understanding as among the greatest values in human experience and actively strives to provide students hands-on opportunities to further their knowledge.
